Noveday the achievement of high sports results in most cases is accompanied by the problem of youth sports associated with the forcing of sports results and this question is most acutely in kind of sports, where the determining factor of the effectiveness of competitive activity is the development of physical qualities. Specificity of competitive activity in powerlifting and the determining factor of the effectiveness of competitive activity – the development of strength capabilities, allow athletes to demonstrate high sports results for a long time, even at a mature age. However, for the achieve high sports results, the body of powerlifters already at a young age is forced to endure significant physical loads. It can have negatively affect the health of athletes. The goal – detection of features of the relationship between the beginning of specialization in powerlifting and powerlifteries’ sports longevity in light weight categoryes groups. We used the following methods of research: analogy, analysis, synthesis, abstraction, induction, extrapolation, analysis of documentary materials, methods of statistical analysis. During of analyzing documentary materials we the protocols of the world championships and the World Games in powerlifting over the last ten years were studied, and we studied also the age of the beginning of specialization in powerlifting and the duration of partisipate in the international competitions 39 athletes of the light weight categories groups were revealed. As a result of the use of statistical research methods, the existence of a relationship between the beginning of specialization in powerlifting and the duration of performances of athletes of the light weight categories on the international arena in powerlifting was confirmed. The obtained results confirm that the beginning of early specialization in powerlifting can cause exhaustion of functional potential, increase sports injuries and be dangerous for powerlifters' health and, as a result, premature end of sports career.
